Chapel Porth in Cornwall, I was fortunate enough to find out about this little gem of a place because of a few lovely visitors to my shop in Ryde, Isle of Wight, so on my next photography trip down there I had to go and check the place out, so I drove down to Cornwall after work on saturday, the journey wasn’t bad, approx 3 and half hours from Portsmouth, plus the ferry from the Isle of Wight to Portsmouth, I was staying with friends in Newquay. I arrived at my friends around 9pm Saturday evening, we planned to go out to capture the Milky Way the first evening as the sky was so clear, we had a few hours to kill, but as soon as around 12.30am came round we were ready and out, we wanted to capture the Milky Way over the tin mine, so we parked up and walked down in the pitch black, I was very glad to be with a few friends, we played around with some photos and just had a good time under the stars.
The next day I went to Chapel Porth in the daytime, well evening around 8pm, I didn’t want the beach to be to busy to fly the drone. I went for a walk along the beach, whilst I was flying to try and get some aerial photos showing the all of Chapel Porth from the air, this spot really is breath taking.
I think the photos speak for themselves.
My friends I was staying at live in Newquay, have breathtaking views over the Gannel Estuary, from there lounge I spotted a few paddle boarders enjoying a really sunny day, so I decided to go down to the Gannel Estuary and send the drone up for some aerial photos. the water was crystal clear and gorgeously blue/ turquoise, I was very envious of the paddle boarders, this photo was just a straight down angle looking at the paddle boarders and the bank.
