London Photographer | Alfie in the Air
Callum O’Connell is renowned for his large-scale photographs, expertly blending aerial viewpoints with ground-level perspectives. His portfolio encompasses a diverse range of styles, from the ethereal hues of sunrise to the dramatic tones of sunset. With an eye for detail, he captures impressive landscapes from above, while also crafting minimalist compositions that harness the power of negative space. Originally from the suburban enclave of Solihull in the Midlands, Callum’s journey led him to London at the age of 21, where he pursued a career as a self-employed electrical and heating engineer in the heart of the City. Photography began as a passion, with Callum and his friends venturing out into the bustling streets of London for nighttime shoots, where the vibrant cityscape came to life under the glow of countless lights. When the uncertainty of lockdown loomed, Callum made the bold decision to relocate to London. Setting up shop on the Isle of Wight, he transitioned his hobby into a successful online business, eventually establishing a physical studio. Opting for Ryde as his base, the area’s proximity to his roots, excellent transport links, and all-encompassing appeal made it the perfect choice. In his Isle of Wight gallery, Callum showcases his work in various formats, ranging from 35cm x 35cm ‘mini square’ prints to imposing statement pieces. Each piece is elegantly framed in his signature white frame, lending a contemporary and polished aesthetic to his collection.
